Rock the Vote

Building political power for young people, so that young voters have a stronger voice and can build a truly representative democracy.

The Problem

A lot of young people feel like their generation is getting screwed by a broken political system and that leaders don’t represent their progressive values. They care about economic fairness, racial and social justice, full equality, an end to climate change and a reformed criminal justice system; but politicians are either actively working against these goals or are powerless to effect change in the face of resistance from vested interests.

The Solution

Rock the Vote is a nonpartisan nonprofit dedicated to building the political power of young people. For over 25 years, the organization has used pop culture, music, art and technology to engage young people in politics, registering and turning out millions of young voters. “We can take back our future by standing together and fighting for justice — online, in the streets, at the ballot box.”
